NJPEC Names Hall of Fame Finalists

On September 22, at the 9th annual Hall of Fame dinner sponsored by the New Jersey Packaging Executives Club (NJPEC), master of ceremonies Charles Del Rosso, MeadWestvaco Corp, quipped that this year’s five industry veteran inductees held more than 185 years of combined experience between them. Each Hall of Fame finalist has made major contributions to the packaging industry over the span of his or her career and has significantly advanced the packaging profession within his or her area of expertise. This year’s honorees were John Lawlor (in memorium; founder of American Packaging Company, Norcross Products, Inc., American Bottle & Cap, Inc. and Nature Clean, Inc.); John Alongi (senior manager of engineering, Avon); Ted Boccuzzi (president and owner Advanced Distribution Systems); Lorraine Ahart (vice president of package development, Victoria’s Secret); and Jim Pfister, president, Finished Goods Enterprises, Inc.). During the evening, seven NJPEC scholarships were also awarded to promising students in packaging and related programs. Recipients were David Ellis, Rutgers University; Renee Lambert, Fashion Institute of Technology; Emily Orozco, Wagner College; Judy Cheung, Fashion Institute of Technology; Marvin Menke, Fashion Institute of Technology; Thais Nogueira, Fashion Institute of Technology; Kerissa Voldeck, Fashion Institute of Technology.
